Sunday's Crock Pot Cooking
Sunday I dug out and dusted off my crock pot and made Shepherd's Pie. I felt good using it again and I knew that I was not going to go as long again without coking in it again! It just makes life so much simpler when I use it. Everyone knows what's for dinner and I don't have to hear 1,001 times day "what's for dinner" and plus once the food is in there and cooking I don't think about dinner again until it's done.
I know most of you are probably like me and have made it on the stove and popped it in the oven but this way was easy and tasted better (I swear it did).
Shepherd's Pie - Crock Pot Style
2lbs hamburger meat cooked and drained
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can whole kernel corn
1 can french green beans
instant mashed potatoes
1 large onion
cheese
paprika
salt & pepper (I use garlic salt & garlic pepper)
I cook my meat with the my onion and add my salt and pepper to the meat mixture. Place meat mixture in the bottom of crock pot. Stir in cream of mushroom soup. Drain corn and green beans and add to crock pot. Next I make my potatoes (you can use real I have just always used the instant) and then place them on top of the corn and beans. I try to spread it out even and then top with your favorite kind of cheese (I have to use Velveeta if I have any hopes the kids will eat it). Sprinkle with a little paprika and cook on low for 3 hours and then remove the lid and cook for an additional 30 mins. so that the cheese will brown a bit and it will thicken up.
I usually make a salad to go with it but tonight I just warmed up some yummy cheese rolls.

freakin yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yum! Thanks for the recipe. :)
Mmmm I have to make this!
