It's a rainy day & Sunday's crock pot cooking

rain rain go away

These are the kind of days we like to hang out in the house and play games and bake.

game time

We baked some red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and decorated them all for Valentines day.

I also have Onion Beer Chicken in the crock pot.

This is one of the easiest meals to make and really cheap too.

You start with beer...any kind will do. We just had these in the fridge, I used 3 bottles.

You pour the beer in the crock pot and add 1 large white onion. You want the pieces of onion to be pretty big not diced.

Add half a package of Lipton Onion Soup mix to the beer and onions and stir well.

You then take your chicken breasts and dip them in egg and then into a flour mixture {the mixture I use is just flour with salt, pepper, and garlic pepper}

Then brown them in a pan....only a couple minutes on each side will do.

Place the browned chicken into the crock pot with the beer and onions.

I cook it on high for about 2 hours and then turn it down to medium for 4 hours or so.

I will serve this over egg noodles tonight and I will also make some type of veggie. You could have this over rice too but I know my kids and they prefer the noodles.

I need to thank Another Suburban Mom for this great recipe. Check out her Foodie Friday posts....they are alway awesome!

Oh, sweet! I'm trying this this week. I thought I was already following you, but I guess somehow, it was just on twitter. Fixing that now.

Ok- wish I was your neighbor because me and the girls would be knocking on your door!!

We are supposed to get 6-9 inches of snow starting around dinner tonight. For now, we have some neibor kids in playing with the girls. :)

Thanks for the outdoor shot - so nice to see things green and not covered in snow!

Glad you enjoyed the recipe. I am hoping soon the entire internet will be enjoying chicken and beer.

Tomorrow I am making my homemade foccacia. I bet you might see that one on Friday.

That does look delish and I'm a huge fan of using my crock pot to allow me more time for blogging and doing nothing instead of standing in the kitchen. I'm sorta lazy like that!
