Wine Wednesday
This is truly my favorite post of the week not only because I get to try a new wine but I get to share it with you. Yesterday was not a good day at all but knowing that I got to come home and try this baby to share with you made the day seem so much better.
Marques de Casa Concha - 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile
From grapes of our prime Puente Alto vineyard in the Maipo Valley, this limited production Cabernet Sauvignon has been barrel-aged in French Oak for fourteen months with it's intense black berry aroma and fig flavor evoking the Puente Alto terrior, the wood adds generous hints of coffee and vanilla. It's medium-bodies on the palate with a very pleasant tannins.
After reading that on the back of the bottle I was all for the coffee and vanilla hints but I really didn't taste them. The wine was very good and we really enjoyed it. This wine is a little more pricey at about $20 a bottle but it is well worth every penny. I picked it up this weekend at BJ's a local whole sale food club.
This wine and I have a little funny history that you can read about here if you want.
It paired very well with our Pumpkin Cheesecake from the Cheese Cake Factory {which I forgot to get a picture of but I will tonight as we still have some over half of it left}. Because remember I told you I was having a bad day so D'man made it all better by picking up a cheese cake for me and pumpkin of course!

I love WINE too! I get mine at World Market and I just love all the neat and cool wine labels! Secondly, I Love Love Wines from Chile and especially Concho and Toro. I love thier Cabernet/Merlot one.
Gonna second the recommendation on World Market for wine.
I love Chilean wines. Very good stuff! :)
I never thought of Chili and wine before but now I'm going to do some checking; this also sounds like a great one to try; cute story about the guy buying you a bottle of it before (I'm for anyone buying me a bottle of wine :)
yum on the cheesecake!
sorry yesterday was a rough one; I hope today is a better one :)
